石渠寶笈初編(重華宮),上冊,頁727&*故宮書畫錄(卷六),第四冊,頁250&* 唐寅,生於明憲宗成化六年,卒於世宗嘉靖二年(西元一四七○至一五二三年)。字子畏,又字伯虎,號六如。天賦多才,生性疏放,狂逸不羈。弘治十一年(西元一四九八年)中南京鄉試解元,後牽連京試賄賂案,被謫為吏,從此絕意宦途,一心窮研詩、書、畫。 秋水長天,一派明淨,漁夫扛網,行於堤上。三五枯樹配上轉紅的樹葉,空疏的景象,透露秋的蕭瑟。唐寅用流利細長的線條,來表現近岸的山石,樹亦頗具杈椏之美,山石染以赭紅,恰是落日返照,餘暉醒目。 &* T’ang Yin (style names Tzu-wei and Po-hu, sobriquet Liu-ju) was a native of Soochow. He was extremely talented, but was by nature somewhat careless and lived the life of an unrestrained bon vivant. In 1498, he earned the highest score on the Nanking provincial examinations, but was later implicated in the bribing of a judge at the metropolitan examinations. Disgraced and demoted to the status of office clerk, T’ang abandoned his official career to devote himself to poetry, painting and calligraphy. An expanse of sky stretches over autumn waters creating a space filled with brightness. A lone fisherman carries his nets as he walks along the riverbank. The leaves on several trees have turned red evoking impressions of autumn’s emptiness and desolation. T’ang Yin used smooth, fine, elongated brush strokes to portray the rocks in the foreground and the beauty of dry twigs and branches.
